Dancing Master

[comment from Pete (clumsily paraphrased by me) : "The style in which I've written and arranged this and some of the other new songs uses a suspended feel. Often the accompaniment chord does not contain the melody note, and what would seem to be the right chord will not sound right if played as an accompaniment". This is Pete's attempt to notate the suspensions as chords against a bass note. Some of the chords may have alternative designations, but these are what Pete believes are the right ones. He notes also that the chosen voicing or inversion of the chord will make a difference to how well it fits. Thanks to Keith Busby for his shot at this difficult-to-transcribe song, which Pete used as the starting point for what I print here -- SJB]

Pete has also observed that, though the song is about tango, it's actually set as a beguine.
