Title: Atkin & James reach Greece. Post by Kevin Cryan on Today at 08:49 It's gratifying to find that Messrs James and Atkin's appeal is not just confined to the English speaking world. A Greek admirer (http://dillingerr.blogspot.com/2009/11/pete-atkin.html) has recently written: Quote:
The penultimate line roughly reads: "In 1973. they (Atkin/James) sign new contract with ... (RCA)... and circulate (release) a series of impressive albums which are distinguished (not only) for refinement and but also for satire." I have rendered the underlined words in the quote literally, but I suspect that the the second underlined word should probably be rendered as "wit" rather than "satire". Those among you whose command of modern Greek is better than mine - that'll be anybody with a small smattering of the language, by the way - will no doubt help me out here. Kevin Cryan |

Title: Re: Atkin & James reach Greece. Post by sjm on Today at 09:22 Clicking on the second link in this blog entry "Pete Atkin - A King At Nightfall" - takes you to a place where you can apparently download the whole of AKAN for free. Pete might want to put a stop to that! (Another blog "Time Has Told Me" has hundreds of such downloads of old albums - they always remove the links if an artist asks them to.) Steve M. |
