Chapter 7 of this book - by one of our number I believe - is called, with a deliberate appreciative nod in the direction of Clive James and Pete Atkin,  The Eye of the Universe: Jupiter. The reasons for giving it that title are spelt out in the Acknowledgments section (pp 251-252) of the book.
