Title: Guests on site
Post by Nedd on Today at 15:09
Something must be working. At threeish in the afternoon (gmt) there are 23 guests on the forum. Are there a lot of Voices who don't log in, or has someone just mentioned it on tv or something? It just seems rather a lot: the most I've noticed before is 14.

Happy noo to you all, and thanks for a year's instruction and delight.
:)

Nedd.

It must be the effect of the entry on Wikipedia!!  At 10:21 pm on 31st there are only 7 guests - everyone must be out partying!!!

Happy new year to all

Ian

There seems to be rather a lot happening this week, US-election-wise, in your part of the world, Mr Trumper, so it's nice that you can spare time and thought for us ... or maybe we offer a blessed relief from the campaigners, canvassers, pollsters, journalists - and politicians ! ;)

This year is hell in Iowa - a very tight race, I have been on two opinion panels (paid  :)), and we get endless phone calls.  So I am leaving the State until it all over tomorrow night!  :D

It is the only time Iowa is famous :D

Hi Bogus,

I take it you are discounting the fact that Iowa was the birth-place on one of the most famous Americans of all time, one Marion Robert Morrison (later Marion Michael Morrison, better know as John Wayne,  or indeed that one of the great white jazz players of the twentieth century, Bix Beiderbecke, also had his roots in the state.

Come to think of it, the fact that the singer Andy Williams, who was born in Iowa, built his Andy Williams Moon River Theatre in Branson Missourri may tell you something about how he feels about being born in the state.

And, of course Bill Bryson (as in "I come from Iowa.  Someone has to")
