Clive's long cherished ambition to become a bona fide musician could very easily fulfilled if he gets hold of an item recently spotted by John Naughton, the details of which he has posted posted to his blog http://memex.naughtons.org/archives/2005/10/21/2252.

Just in case anyone is wondering, yes, I'm talking the John Naughton who did a stint as the Observer's TV critic. He was that paper's regular TV critic between 1987 - 1995, so, although he was considered by those of us who read him as a worthy replacement for Clive, he was not in fact Clive's immediate succesor.

John is now Professor of Public Understanding of Technology with the Open University and is a regularly featured columnist -The Networker - in the Observer's Business pages. For more on John (if you're interested) see http://www.briefhistory.com/.
