Title: New newsletter
Post by S J Birkill on Today at 20:23
The latest (22nd) edition of Pete's e-mail newsletter was circulated to subscribers on Sunday. For members not on the circulation list, there's a copy available here (http://www.peteatkin.com/mv/newsletter.php).

In it, Pete writes about the Midnight Voices launch campaign, the recent 606 Club gig, his new black Atkin guitar, the upcoming Latitude Festival, and Sarah Moule's new CD, on one song of which Pete supplies harmony vocals.

Whether or not you're an MV member, if you're not on circulation but would like to receive your own personal copy of future newsletters direct from Pete, you are invited to simply drop him an e-mail to newsletter(at)peteatkin(dot)com with just the word "subscribe" in the subject line.

A new edition of the Pete Atkin Newsletter was mailed to subscribers today. As always, a copy can be found in the MV Archive (http://www.peteatkin.com/mv/newsletter.php) (you need to be logged in to the Forum to read it here).

In this edition Pete brings us up to date on progress at Demon Records towards a comprehensive CD reissue of all of Pete's recorded work from the vinyl era. The first releases will be the BOTBS and DTMA albums, on separate CDs, in February 2009 on the Edsel label. This time the CDs will be accompanied by all the available alternative versions of the songs, plus a wealth of additional printed background material. And there will be at least one previously unreleased track! Val Jennings, a discerning gent and one of our number, is organising the release -- watch the Edsel Records (http://www.demonmusicgroup.co.uk/content/59.chtml) website for news.

Pete also lists the three club gigs he's got lined up so far for next year, and reminds us there are plenty of spare dates in his diary for more. If you know an acoustic music club in your area suitable for an Atkin performance, contact them and make the suggestion. What better way to have our man play in your own (metaphorical) backyard!

If he wants to, he can pop over to Paris and play in my actual backyard! Beautiful view of the Seine, the village church and the hill behind it. AND he'll get a free barbecue lunch if he comes in the summer.

Or if he fancies freezing temperatures, snow and ice he can come to Iowa  :)
