Title: Atkin on Ebay Post by Jan on Today at 00:29 One of the rarest and the earliest bits of Atkin vinyl is up for sale on Ebay at present. It's While the Music Lasts (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/JULIE-COVINGTON-WHILE-THE-MUSIC-LASTS-1967-160-COPIES_W0QQitemZ140243553437QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item140243553437&_trkparms=72%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C65%3A12&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14.l1308) One of only 160 copies pressed including a number of songs not available elsewhere, including Julie Covington singing the lovely title track. http://www.peteatkin.com/disworks.htm#wtml The highest bid at present is £31, a lot less than the last copy went for - 21 hours to go. Title: Re: Atkin on Ebay Post by S J Birkill on Today at 08:52 Neither Pete's name nor Clive's appears in the title of this listing, 'JULIE COVINGTON "WHILE THE MUSIC LASTS "1967 160 COPIES' (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/JULIE-COVINGTON-WHILE-THE-MUSIC-LASTS-1967-160-COPIES_W0QQitemZ140243553437QQcmdZViewItem), only in the description. So this slice of history could easily escape many who would wish to own it. Still standing at 31 quid with twelve-and-a-half hours to go. Steve |

Title: Re: Atkin on Ebay Post by Anne H on Today at 21:57 Thanks very much both Jan and Steve for the heads-up. Well, I tried...but did not win it. Wonder if there will ever be another chance? Anne |

Title: Re: Atkin on Ebay Post by Jan on Today at 22:11 Just for the archive: "While the music lasts" went for £233. Sorry you didn't get it Anne. I think a copy of "The Party's Moving On" was the most expensive Atkin vinyl. The asking price was over £1200 ... and it sold! Jan |

Title: Re: Atkin on Ebay Post by Anne H on 28.06.08 at 00:22 Sheesh! £1,200 is way too much for me - even on a payday evening! Anne |

Title: Re: Atkin on Ebay Post by Kevin Cryan on 03.08.08 at 11:05 Seller victoriaberry76 (http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/victoriaberry76/) is selling a few pieces Atkin memorabilia (http://shop.ebay.co.uk/merchant/victoriaberry76_W0QQ_nkwZQQ_armrsZ1QQ_fromZQQ_mdoZ) on ebay, including this PETE ATKIN ROAD OF SILK LARGE PRESS CLIPPING 1974POSTER (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/PETE-ATKIN-ROAD-OF-SILK-LARGE-PRESS-CLIPPING-1974POSTER_W0QQitemZ160265392547QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item160265392547&_trkparms=72%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12&_trksid=p3911.c0.m14.l1318). http://i22.ebayimg.com/06/i/000/f6/fd/a7e0_1.JPG Kevin Cryan |

Title: Re: Atkin on Ebay Post by Simon Reap on 05.08.08 at 15:30 Looks as though the poster didn't sell. Not sure whether the same seller's "rare" Live in Australia and Lakeside Sessions CDs sold either, but at £15 + postage each they probably didn't. The same pair at Hillside (http://www.peteatkin.com/hillshop.htm) would cost only £21.50 together. Simon |

Title: Re: Atkin on Ebay Post by Jan on 13.10.08 at 23:28 There's a copy of First Folio (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=370094561099&ssPageName=ADME:B:SS:GB:1123) on Ebay at present. (Vendor says the covers are a bit grubby!) Jan |

Title: Re: Atkin on Ebay Post by Jan on 02.11.08 at 10:49 A curiosity (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=350119222693&ssPageName=ADME:B:SS:GB:1123) on Ebay today. I can't quite make out what its all about. For the completist I think! Jan |

Title: Re: Atkin on Ebay Post by Rob Spence on 02.11.08 at 11:18 Very odd. Ricketts was chairman of the Horse Racing Levy Board, which was probably not what he was expected to become after reading Russian at Cambridge. |

Title: Re: Atkin on Ebay Post by Jan on 16.11.08 at 10:25 Lots of Atkin CDs on eBay at present including Touch has a memory and all the See for Miles reissues. Jan |

Title: Re: Atkin on Ebay Post by Pete Atkin on 16.11.08 at 11:41 Apologies for failing to keep up a stream of updates, but things have been moving ahead quickly on the Demon Records front, and I will, I promise, post more details and put out a newsletter very soon, but in the mean time, anyone thinking of paying anything at all over the odds for the See For Miles CDs on Ebay may be well advised to hold off for a bit, assuming they are just after the music and not seeking an all-avalable-editions kind of completeness. The deals are done and Demon WILL be reissuing all the '70s albums early in the new year with as much extra-value material as we can possibly come up with. There are no huge surprise discoveries of lost tracks (which in itself will be no surprise) but I'll post details as soon as I can. The documentation will be as complete as we can make it, including pics and scans of all sorts of stuff, all the lyrics, and new notes by Clive and me, including song-by-song comments. Watch, as they say, this space. |

Title: Re: Atkin on Ebay Post by Simon Reap on 21.11.08 at 14:34 Excellent news, Pete. Well done for again battling through the tar pit of music rights ownership. Now, who else can I give these CDs to as presents.... ;-) |

Title: Atkin on eBay Post by Richard Whiting on 17.06.09 at 22:47 There's been an influx of Atkinalia on eBay recently. Some's already been and gone, sorry to have to report. LPs and CDs and singles and the relevant issues of Vole and Mojo magazine are some of the items on offer. Could it be an MV who's selling off his/her collection now that they've transferred it to a more permanent medium? It occurs to me that 'we' might end up out-bidding each other for this stuff, but there's no legal way to avoid that I suppose. And now I'm off to PeteAtkin.com to see what he's singing on VERTIGO SAMPLER LP - HEADS TOGETHER/FIRST ROUND. I don't recall this one...but it's bound to be on the discography. |
