Title: Fin de fiesta: Últimos poemas Post by S J Birkill on Today at 21:15 Just published (April 7th) : a new book of Clive James' late poems, translated into Spanish for the first time by noted academic Luis Castellví Laukamp. "Fin de fiesta: Últimos poemas" includes parallel text in English. This paperback edition is published by Editorial Pre-Textos of Madrid in their series La Cruz del Sur and is available from the usual on-line bookstores. Here's a sample: "La sombra lo sabe" (The Shadow Knows (https://archive.clivejames.com/poetry/shadow-knows.htm))
The publisher has posted a YouTube video presentation of the new book, in the form of a conversation between Laukamp and Prue James, who Laukamp introduces as the author's 'widow and muse'. He and Prue recite the Spanish and English versions of Return of the Kogarah Kid (https://archive.clivejames.com/poetry/kogarah.htm). Click the image to view the video : Steve |

Title: Re: Fin de fiesta: Últimos poemas Post by Avner Greenberg on 18.04.21 at 21:02 Many thanks for this Steve. The poem sounds good in Spanish, but then almost everything does I suppose. Interesting to hear a rare reading by Clive's "widow and muse". Keep well! Avner |
