I came across a reference to the Vale of Health recently which for some reason I'd always imagined was a metaphor rather than an actual place (I suppose it's both.) Here it is:

The Vale of Health is attached to Hampstead Heath and I sometimes wonder if the lady in the song today would be driving to the gentrified part of Notting Hill rather than the other way. I love the word pictures in the lyric of Rain-Wheels and the idea of the vocal fade-out as the car speeds away leaving the music of the rain behind.

Two weeks ago I realised the 35 year-old -dream and now I have a Jaguar parked outside my house.

Well done Ian. There's something about Jaguars isn't there? Sadly, I've never been inside one, but the various designs have managed a shape that hints both at discreet luxury and brute force.
