Well, at least one Parisian Voice won't be there as I find M. Amis unreadable except for "Experiences" which I forced myself through because it was chiefly about Sir K. Amis whom I rate number one among contemporary novelists. If it was in Paris, I'd try to get along but just to see Clive.

Amis fils is the MC - it's part of his duties as a member of staff at the University. I'm confident Clive will fill 75% of the allotted time for talk...

I shan't be able to make it over the Pennines, unfortunately, although a visit to the Cosmo Rodewald Concert Hall would almost be worth the trip in itself.
On the subject of Amis pere, does anyone recall Pete suggesting that the recent ToD Lantern crowd should 'adjourn to an adjacent hostelram' (Lucky Jim)?

Yes, I remember that!
Just had a message from the ticket sellers (who are separate from Martin Harris Centre) They hope I'm not going to be too disappointed, but the original guest, Alan Sillitoe, has been replaced by  Clive James. If I want a refund, etc, etc.
The Cosmo Rodewald (who he?)  hall is rather fine- small, intimate, very comfortable. I've been to a couple of lunchtime concerts there.
