Title: Herbie Flowers
Post by S J Birkill on Today at 19:02
Rock session bassist Herbie Flowers has died.

The Guardian: "Tributes have been paid after the death of Herbie Flowers, the session musician whose instantly recognisable bassline on Lou Reed’s Walk on the Wild Side is considered one of the greatest in pop music history."

Not quite so well known, but equally great, are Herbie's contributions to the Pete Atkin albums A King at Nightfall and Driving Through Mythical America.

Here's his signature Jazz Bass on No Dice (https://www.peteatkin.com/play/b3.htm).

A master session musician I am glad to see having well-deserved plaudits following this sad news. It was via his contributions to Pete's albums I was first aware of him. RIP Herbie.
