The inestimable (that's one of those ones like 'invaluable', which, come to think of it, will work as well) Nick Westcott, who has no competition for the prize that goes to the person who's been booking me consistently over the longest period, has asked me back to the Eastbourne Folk Club, venue as before.  Hooray!  Hey, this is turning into a tour.

I see I'll have to invite Oliver to lunch for a serious chat about making this a European tour.

If anyone who's going has any requests, do please send me an IM.  No promises, but I'll do my best.  It always helps me to get a setlist started.

I was very much looking forward to coming to Pete's gig at The Lamb tonight but last minute considerations dictate that it will not be possible after all. Had also hoped to speak to Mr Wescott about getting a gig for my own wee trio too. Ah well, have to wait until 2015 now!

To all and any going I hope you all enjoy as much as I would have done and I'll look forward to seeing setlists and reviews on here before midnight!

Best to all

Gerry

Not before midnight, Gerry, but here goes:

An excellent gig from Pete last night at Eastbourne Folk Club, which is Pete's longest (more or less) continuous venue. Two 45 minute sets with a break. Maybe the highlight was Beware of the Beautiful Stranger played on the ukelele in public for the first and, as Pete speculated possibly the last, time, .

Set list was:

The beautiful changes
Me to thank
Touch has a memory
Search and destroy
Girl on a train
The last hill that shows you all the valley
Too late for me
The Joker
BOTBS

Break

Ice-cream man
Master of the revels
You better face it boy
Amy's Blues
The luck of the draw
The girl with the pearl driller's hands
Wristwatch for a drummer
Now we're not together
Thirty year man
The original Honky Tonk night train blues

I am hopeful that Pete will be playing a Sunday night gig in August at WM Jazz in the O2, Greenwich. More news when this is finalised.
