Sad news: we learned today that John Waites, who had been out of contact with friends and family for a few days, was yesterday found dead in his Portsmouth flat. That's all we know right now.
John was a staunch supporter of Pete Atkin, and a long-time member of MV, having joined us in 2001. A regular at Pete's gigs, especially around London and the South Coast, he was closely associated with the WM Jazz Club at the O2, and organised Pete's appearance there in 2013.
We last met John at the Champ de rêves event just outside Paris in 2012. He was a kind and gentle man, loved by all who knew him. He will be missed.
