Hello all

For anyone who is interested, I spent last weekend in the studio with Perfect Strangers, the function band I play with. We specialise in playing covers of well known material for corporate do's, weddings, hotels, bar mitzvahs etc. If you follow the link below you'll get to my Facebook profile where you can give them a listen. And if any of you would like to book us it would be lovely to hear from you.

Hi Gerry

I've had a listen and I'm impressed.  Have you thought of having a go at a PA/CJ song?

Though he had no great gifts of personality or mind, he was quite well respected.

Thanks, Ian. Well now, there's an idea. Sessionman's Blues, perhaps? Or Thirty Year Man?

Gerry,

These track sound intriguing!  Any chance of a link for those of us who don't do FaceBook?  Or can I see them without joining?  When I click on the link with your name, I just get a "join facebook" page.

Hi Simon

Yes, these links sould work. First up is our take on the Kasier Chief's 'Valerie' also done by Amy Winehouse:
http://homepages.nildram.co.uk/~gsmith/Perfect%20Strangers%20-%20Valerie.mp3

Next is our version of the Doobies 'Long Train Running':
http://homepages.nildram.co.uk/~gsmith/Perfect%20Strangers%20-%20Long%20Train%20Running.mp3

And then 'Black Magic Woman':
http://homepages.nildram.co.uk/~gsmith/Perfect%20Strangers%20-%20Black%20Magic%20Woman.mp3

And finally the old standard 'All of Me':
http://homepages.nildram.co.uk/~gsmith/Perfect%20Strangers%20-%20All%20Of%20Me.mp3

Not perfect but good enough to tout for business. You can see a long but not exhaustive list of the stuuf we do along with member rofiles, testimonials etc at

I stand corrected. Valerie was by THe Zutons, not The Kaiser Chiefs.

Thanks for those, Gerry.  They sound great!  I'm also impressed by the range and size of your repertoire - 70+ very varied songs.

Thank you kindly, Simon. As a working function band we try to cater for all tastes. Doing stuff that everyone knows does take a bit of courage sometimes but between us we generally manage to cover all the bases.

Thanks for taking the time to listen.

I like that version of Black Magic Woman - and great sounding Sax Gerry - I can think of a few weddings where this could have been a life-saver  Smiley
