That Nice Mr. Atkin

We all know about references to "That Nice Mr. Birkill", but what about Our Hero?
I've attached a couple of pictures of a letter written by Pete in February 1975.
You can tell it's an old letter, by the price of the stamp (it looks like 37, but the postmark obscures the fact that it is three and a half pence).
I was delving into my vinyl collection, and the attached slipped out of the cover of "The Road Of Silk". I often used to put relevant clippings from "Melody Maker or NME inside album sleeves, and I'd forgotten that I had done this with Pete's missive.
In case the quality is such that the letter itself is unreadable, it is a reply to some questions I had about "A First Folio", "Touch Has A Memory" and "Black Funk Rex".
Pete went to great lengths to explain what I wanted to know, and I was mightily impressed that he would take the time and effort to respond this way.
At the risk of embarrassing Pete, do any other have sacred memorabilia, and instances of his all-round good eggishness?

As the proud owner of 'A First Folio' I am particularly pleased that my copy is signed by both Pete and Clive. As the images below attest, I was lucky enough to acquire a copy as late as January 1981, from Music Sales in Newman Street, to which Pete alludes in his letter to Bob Taylor. Clive quite rightly counsels me to 'guard this with your life'! The images below also show the current state of my very well used copy and so it is fortunate that amongst my friends I have an expert bookbinder!
And can it really be ten years since I met Pete for the first time at Islington? "And then one day you find ten years have got behind you"

A First Folio reloaded?

Apart from raiding Gerry Smith's (or a few other lucky bastards I could mention) house in the middle of the night it seems that I am destined never to possess a copy of the First Folio. I am therefore making this request to that nice Mr. Atkin to authorise a facsimile copy for private study use only (that is to say, drooling over a copy while learning the harmony lines on my keyboard).
You'll be doing the prison service a favour by keeping me out of the arms of the authorities.
Hoping this plea falls on less-than-deaf ears

PS The first sentence is ungrammatical but I'm blowed if I know how to say it grammatically ("a few lucky bastards I could mention"'s?!)

I suspect that that nice Mr Atkin doesn't have the power to give you permission, I don't think he is the copyright holder of First Folio but I would be delighted to be proved wrong.
Normally to legally copy an entire out of print work you just ask the copyright holder how much they want to charge you for the permission.

There was a MV reception at a nearby hotel after the gig at which I had the pleasure of buying Clive a beer. Delighted as I was to do so, it was only that, being after hours, and unless my memory is failing me completely, he had been refused service!!!! But as I was resident at the hotel that night, the rules didn't count! Incidentally, the jacet I am wearing in the photo is a sort of dark yellow ochre and my shirt is black...

Did he actually get the drink? I remember that Clive had supposedly been on the wagon for many years so I was surprised to have seen him with a half of bitter in his hand in the post-gig get-together. And, while we're (or I'm) on the subject, what a bloody great evening it was! Meeting Pete, Clive, Steve, Carole, Gerry, the late Paul G. Ian S. and sundry others for the first and (in some cases) only time more than compensated for the drive between Paris and Buxton and back again in 27 hours and opened up a lot of more than pleasant routes to explore, both musically and socially (for me, at least.) The cocktail party, pre-gig drinks session with Richard Corfield and some others in a local pub, and then the superb concert were unforgettable. This sort of event should be compulsory.
BTW Love the jacket, Gerry!
