Stephen Thorne
Stephen Thorne starred as Uncle Mort in three series of the Uncle Mort written by Peter Tinniswood and loosely based upon his own 1960s books A Touch of Daniel
Tinniswood wrote six series under three titles for BBC Radio 4, the first being Uncle Mort's North Country broadcast 1987. The second and third were Uncle Mort's South Country (1990) and Uncle Mort's Celtic Fringe. (1996)
All six series, I believe, were directed by Pete Atkin
